welcome to room 6

  Welcome to Mrs.  Kerrigan's First Grade Class

 I am enjoying your children this year.  They are  working hard on their reading and math skills.  I have seen a lot of growth already.     Please check your child's backpack daily.   Thank you for  listening to your child read the books that are sent home in their folders.    Please check your child's backpack for homework.   Thank you for all of the work that you do with your child at home.  It really pays off!
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call me at Kellom  344-0441 Ext.1028.  Thanks again.  Sincerely, Mrs. Kerrigan

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

Rules:

              1.  Raise your hand before speaking.
              2.  Follow directions the first time given.
              3.  Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
              4.  Be respectful.
              5.  Be a good friend.

Behavior Plan:  We have a "Stop Light" which has green, yellow, and red.  Each child starts their day on green.  First rule infraction results in moving their name to yellow.  Second infraction they move their name to red.  Third infraction they give their name to me.

             Green=Great behavior
             Yellow=Warning
             Red=Loss of recess
             Me=A note will be sent home to be signed by parent and returned to school the next day.

In order to promote positive behavior we have a "compliment jar" in our classroom.  Whenever  our class or someone in our class gets a compliment on behavior,  we put a cotton ball in our "compliment jar".  When the jar is full, the children get to vote on the type of party we will have in order to celebrate our success.  HOPE TO HAVE A LOT OF PARTIES!!!!!!
